My husband is a jeweller. He priced in a notebook, then I moved him to Excel. The formulas were not his craft. Too many evenings meant hunting for what the metal cost, guessing a number, and hoping it was fair.

The point was never to pull a maker off the bench. It was to make pricing simple enough to trust, flexible enough to change, and calm enough to use the night before a show.
Something simple he could still change
I wanted something automatic enough to help, and open enough that he could keep tweaking a price until it felt right. Not accounting software. Not a rigid system that locks every cost. A studio tool that stays out of the way of the work.
The night before an exhibition
Before a show with about twenty-two pieces, he uploaded photos, priced each one, and tweaked a few the night before. He handed the gallerist a price list with photos, materials, and final prices. During the show someone asked for a similar ring. He opened his phone and made a quotation. When a piece sold, he logged it there and then. That is the kind of evening this was built for.
We were not the only ones
Visiting other studios, the same quiet worry showed up: beautiful work, prices that were hard to trust, lists and quotes made in a rush. That is when Alloy & Ledger stopped being only our fix and became something worth sharing.

What it is
Alloy & Ledger is a web app for independent jewellery studios. It helps you turn materials and hours into a sell price, build photo price lists and quotations, keep stock from supplier invoices, and record sales from your phone or browser.
Each studio is private to its own account.
Who it is for
Solo jewellers and small ateliers who still price by hand and second-guess the number.
It is not generic accounting software. Costs stay editable. You can keep working and reconcile stock when you are calm.
Where it is based
Built with Swiss studios in mind. CHF is the default currency; EUR and USD are available.
The site and app are in English and French.
